A 35 × 35 inch square silk scarf offers many ways to wear original artwork. These five looks work across men's and women's wardrobes. Start with loose folds and gentle knots so the silk can drape naturally.

1. A slim neck scarf with an open collar

Lay the scarf flat. Fold two opposite corners toward the center, then continue folding into a long band. Drape it around your neck, tie a loose single knot and tuck the ends inside an open shirt collar. Adjust for comfort without pulling tightly.

M.COSTA Marcella limited edition silk scarf abstract artwork in black, ivory and gray

Try Marcella with a white shirt and dark trousers for a graphic black-and-ivory accent.

2. A triangle scarf with a T-shirt or jacket

Fold the square diagonally into a triangle. Place the broad point at the front, bring the two long ends around your neck and tie them loosely. Keep the point visible above a simple T-shirt or beneath an open jacket.

M.COSTA Mila limited edition silk scarf abstract artwork in blue, aqua, ivory and peach

Try Mila with denim and a plain white or black top.

3. Draped over the shoulders

Fold the scarf diagonally and drape it over your shoulders with the point down your back. Let the ends hang in front or tie them loosely together. This square size adds a light accent rather than the coverage of a full-length shawl.

M.COSTA Mariella limited edition silk scarf abstract artwork in red, coral and burgundy

Try Mariella over a simple black dress or a sleeveless top.

4. A headscarf or wide hair band

For a headscarf, fold into a triangle, place the long folded edge along your hairline and tie the ends gently at the nape. For a hair band, fold into a long band instead and tie behind your head. Silk can slip, so adjust the fold and knot to suit your hair without tightening excessively.

M.COSTA Marina limited edition silk scarf abstract artwork in turquoise, teal and aqua

Try Marina with a neutral outfit to highlight its turquoise and aqua tones.

5. A scarf accent on a handbag

Fold into a narrow band and tie a loose knot or bow around a smooth bag handle, allowing the ends to fall freely. Check the handle for sharp hardware or rough edges that could snag the fabric. Keep the scarf clear of the ground and moving parts.

M.COSTA Magdalena limited edition silk scarf abstract artwork in magenta, black, ivory and green

Try Magdalena on a simple black or ivory bag for a vivid color accent.
